– Following an active year of expanding product lines, new office openings across the US and increase in workforce, Pileco Inc. received one of the most prestigious awards in the Houston business community – the Houston Business Journal’s Fastest 100 Award.
In a ceremony held Friday, September 26, and among an audience of peers representing a number of different industries within the Houston business community, the company was named seventh among Houston’s fastest growing and economically strong companies.
This award is celebrated just after news of a new state of the art BAUER manufacturing facility Pileco is developing in Conroe in conjunction with its partner and parent company BAUER Maschinen GmbH, scheduled to open in phases in 2009, was reported in both the Houston Business Journal and the Houston Chronicle. Company representatives say it is an exciting time and attribute their success to a “back to the basics” approach to business.
“We have always strongly believed in empowering our employees and giving them ‘ownership’ roles in the company. We know that a company is only as strong and has only the potential as those working at every level within it. This award is a tribute to our employees,” said Pileco President George Smith.
“Our expansive network of dealers and quality product lines also enable us to meet changing foundation equipment needs and serve as a complete resource within the foundation construction and oil and gas industries,” Smith added.
This past year Pileco announced expansion within its lines of diesel and vibratory hammers, as well as the addition of a new
air hammer. The exclusive distributor of BAUER products in the western hemisphere, Pileco also showcased the new BG-12H drilling rig and new state of the art manufacturing facility in Conroe - which will enable expanding manufacturing efforts of custom fabricated interchangeable drilling tools and accessories.
The company is also the distributor of Vulcan, IHC, RTG, MAT and BETEK products throughout the northeastern United States and Mexico. They have offices in Texas, California, Florida and Panama.
The Fastest 100 Award is sponsored by the Houston Business Journal, honoring 100 of the fastest growing companies in Houston. The businesses are ranked according to their past two-year growth. They are required to be headquartered in the Houston area and at least five years old.
